KAREN R.
BEALE, SIOR
Principal, Newport News, Va.
Karen R. Beale, as Principal for the Virginia Peninsula office, is
responsible for managing the commercial brokerage and property management
services offered by Divaris Real Estate, Inc. in the region. The Virginia Peninsula region
includes Williamsburg/James City County, Newport News, York County, Hampton and Gloucester. The Peninsula office also
handles properties in Smithfield, Suffolk and Isle of Wight County.
Prior to joining Divaris, Beale held the position
of Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer for Hamner Development Company in Newport News, VA where she was
responsible for marketing the company’s brokerage and development
services and the leasing and sales of a variety of office properties on
the Peninsula from 1994
through 2006.
Prior to relocating to Hampton Roads, Beale, as
Vice President of Marketing and Leasing for national developer Lee Sammis Associates, Inc., managed the leasing and
sales of the Sammis/Copley portfolio in the
metropolitan Washington D.C. area. Her
responsibilities included marketing in excess of 1.5 million square feet
of office and flex space and over 700 acres of commercial land for
development.
Her 27 years in commercial real estate include
seven years as Director of Commercial Leasing with Gates, Hudson &
Associates, Inc. In that position, she handled the exclusive leasing and
property management of numerous retail and office properties in Northern
Virginia. Beale started her career in leasing
and property management with Beatty Management Company in McLean, Va in 1979.
A native of Richmond, she
attended Longwood College and Virginia Commonwealth University majoring in
Marketing and Communications. She has held a Virginia Real Estate Broker
License since 1985 and holds the SIOR (Society of Industrial and Office
Realtors) international designation as an Office Specialist.
Beale currently serves on the
Board of Trustees for the Virginia Living Museum, has been
elected Vice President/President-Elect of the Virginia State Chapter of
SIOR, is a charter member and serves on the Advisory Board of CREW
(Commercial Real Estate Women) Hampton Roads, and serves on the Board of
Directors of HRACRE (Hampton Roads Association of Commercial Real
Estate).
