Divaris Associates Earn Masters in Commercial Property Designations

Virginia Beach, Virginia: Gerald S. Divaris, chairman and CEO of Divaris Real Estate Inc. (DRE), announced that Masters in Commercial Property (MICP) designation have been awarded to four associates of the Virginia Beach and Richmond offices. Krista Costa, Erica Meekins, Sezin Cortinas, and Sara Goodall received the MICP designations after successfully completing the Masters in Commercial Property program, having attended the Lipsey School of Real Estate courses held at the University of Virginia in Charlottesville.

This designation indicates attainment of a broad knowledge of core disciplines, key skills and systems critical to the sound and ethical practice of commercial real estate. The goal of the program is to provide practitioners with the skills and knowledge to better serve their clients and succeed in an increasingly fluid, vast and sophisticated commercial real estate market.

Krista Costa is assistant vice president of office sales and leasing in the Virginia Beach headquarters office of Divaris Real Estate, Inc. She specializes in corporate office services and office leasing. Costa holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Old Dominion University in Norfolk, Virginia. She is a charter member of Commercial Real Estate Women (CREW) in Hampton Roads, and is currently serving on the Board of Directors. She is also a member of Virginia Beach’s Central Business District Association (CBDA).

Erica Meekins is senior retail sales and leasing associate in DRE’s Virginia Beach office. She is responsible for pre-development and leasing of mixed-use town centers and lifestyle centers throughout the Mid-Atlantic. Additionally, she represents local, regional and national retail tenants throughout southeastern Virginia, including consulting on store expansion strategies and store repositioning. Meekins holds a Bachelor of Science degree from James Madison University. She serves as Co-founder and Secretary of CBDX, a branch of Virginia Beach’s Central Business District Association, she is co-founder of Southeastern VA’s International Council of Shopping Center’s (ICSC) Next Generation and served on the 2006-2008 ICSC Virginia Idea Exchange Program Planning Committee.

Sezin Cortinas is retail sales and leasing associate in the Virginia Beach office of Divaris Real Estate, working on the leasing of retail components of mixed-use developments along the East Coast. Cortinas holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Old Dominion University and is a member of ICSC.

Sara Goodall is retail sales and leasing associate in the Richmond office of Divaris where she is responsible for leasing shopping centers and representing retail tenants throughout Richmond and Central Virginia. Goodall holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration with an emphasis in Marketing from San Diego State University. She is a member of ICSC and the Greater Richmond Association of Commercial Real Estate (GRACRE).
