Douglasville, Georgia: Gerald S. Divaris, Chairman/CEO of Divaris Real Estate, Inc., announced the signing of a lease with Family Dollar Stores of Georgia, Inc. for 10,000 square feet of retail space in the Divaris leased and managed Forrest Mart Shopping Center, located at 6099 Fairburn Road in Douglasville, Georgia. Family Dollar joins Heilig-Meyers Furniture, Aaron Rents and Lab Corp in the shopping center.
Family Dollar is headquartered in Matthews, North Carolina, just outside of Charlotte. The Company has been in business since 1959 and a publicly held corporation since 1970. The merchandise is sold at everyday low prices in a no-frills, low overhead, self-service environment. Most merchandise is priced under $10.00. Family Dollar Stores is one of the fastest growing discount store chains in the United States, with 1,109 new stores added over the last five years.
The stores are located in a contiguous, 39-state area ranging northeast to Maine, southeast to Florida, as far northwest as South Dakota and southwest as Arizona. There are approximately 220 stores in the state of Georgia. They generally range in size from 6,000 to 8,000 square feet.
