Virginia Beach, Virginia: Michael B. Divaris, president of Divaris Real Estate, Inc. (DRE), announced the sale of the former BB&T Bank Building, located at 6137-6145 Sewells Point Road, in Norfolk, Virginia. The 8,080 square foot building was purchased for $300,000 and was financed by TowneBank. The sale was handled on behalf of the seller, Branch Banking and Trust Company, by David Bickford of the Virginia Beach office of Divaris Real Estate.
Following a debate in the Norview area of Norfolk to attract retailers, Bickford and local property owners held a series of meetings at Norview High School to discuss the removal of the Pedestrian Overlay District zoning laws, which was eventually supported by the City of Norfolk Zoning Department. Lonely Properties, LLC, purchased the building to operate as a pawn shop.
