Divaris Real Estate is excited to welcome Lydia Jabs as its summer marketing intern, in the Virginia Beach Office. She graduated with honors from Princess Anne High School in June, and will be a freshman at Dartmouth this fall. Lydia showed great enthusiasm during her time at DRE for the CBDA Internship Day last spring, so we were delighted to offer her real-world experience before she heads off to college in September. As a summer intern, she is primarily working in the marketing department, along with completing special brokerage research projects. “We are very excited to hire a summer intern that spent the day with us during CBDA’s Internship Day,” said Alex Divaris, Vice President of Investment Sales and Marketing at Divaris. He continued saying, “Our ultimate goal is to provide experience to talented young thinkers, like Lydia, in hopes that they return to the area after college to begin their careers.”
Q & A with Lydia
Q: What are you most passionate about?
A: I spend most of my time at the pool—either diving or coaching younger kids. When I’m on the board, I’m the happiest, and being able to share the joy and lessons this sport brings is very rewarding. I’m looking forward to competing at the collegiate level and the challenges it will bring.
Q: What are your personal and/or career goals for the future?
A: At Dartmouth I plan to study visual arts and economics, with an emphasis on marketing, in the hopes that I will be able to enter a career in marketing. Eventually, I would like to start my own business, centered on spreading positive messages in advertising that stand out against the influx of ads we are exposed to every day.
Q: What do you hope to learn from your time at Divaris?
A: I hope to gain insight into a career in marketing, soak in as much as I can about the real estate world, and lighten everyone’s load while I’m at it. I’m very thankful for this opportunity and intend on making the best of the experience.
