WILMINGTON, NORTH CAROLINA:  Diana Teitsma, director of the Charlotte, N.C. office of Divaris Real Estate Inc. (DRE), announced the signing of a lease for 32,976 square feet of retail space to Havertys Furniture Company Inc.  Located at 1318 Military Cutoff Road in Wilmington, N.C., the retail space was formerly occupied by a Belk Department Store and is near the new Mayfaire Town Center development.  The furniture retailer joins Food Lion, Starbucks, Wild Wings and Wine Styles at the property.

    Founded in 1885 by James Joseph Haverty, Havertys Furniture opened its first showroom in Atlanta, Ga.  Today, Havertys has more than 100 showrooms throughout 17 states.

    Diana Teitsma, of DRE’s Charlotte office represented the tenant, Havertys Furniture Company Inc., in the lease negotiations.  Teitsma is assisting the retailer with its expansion plans throughout North and South Carolina.
