rue21 Leases 7,550 SF in DRE-Leased and –Managed Crossways Shopping Center

CHESAPEAKE, VIRGINIA:  Gerald S. Divaris, chairman and CEO of Divaris Real Estate Inc. (DRE), announced that a lease was signed with rue21 for 7,550 square feet of retail space in Crossways Shopping Center located on Greenbrier Parkway in Chesapeake.  The tenant will join existing retailers Ross Dress for Less, DSW, TJMaxx, Marshall’s, Value City Furniture and Office Depot in the Divaris-leased and –managed shopping center.

rue21 is a leading specialty apparel retailer offering exclusive branded merchandise and the newest trends, at a great value. The company is headquartered in Warrendale, Pennsylvania and specializes in the sale of women’s, men’s and children’s apparel and related footwear, accessories, jewelry and fragrances.  At the end of the first quarter of fiscal 2010, rue21 operated 565 stores in 43 states. More about the company can be found on their web site at www.rue21.com.

The lease was negotiated on behalf of the landlord, JLP-Chesapeake, LLC, by Divaris’ Anne Millar Wright, assistant vice president of development.  The tenant was represented by Mary McGovern, senior vice president of retail leasing and Sezin Cortinas, retail leasing and sales associate in the Virginia Beach office of DRE. rue21 is one of over 75 retailers nationwide that are represented by Divaris in their search for new sites.
