Crossways Offers Shoppers a Variety of Choices CHESAPEAKE, VIRGINIA -- Ross Dress for Less is just one of the many national tenants in the Divaris-leased Crossways Shopping Center. Located at 1412 Greenbrier Parkway in Chesapeake, Virginia, Crossways is a 371,735-square-foot regional shopping center situated on 20 acres of land that includes two smaller strip centers, Crossways Small Shops and Eden Way Shops. The shopping center is anchored by Value City Furniture, DSW Shoe Warehouse, Office Depot, Ross Dress for Less and Marshalls. Anne Millar and Lori Campbell, of Divaris Real Estate’s Virginia Beach office are the exclusive leasing agents for the property. In 1999, Divaris was appointed to lease and manage the shopping center and was instrumental in the repositioning of the center in the market as well as the re-tenanting of the center with new retailers entering Hampton Roads. Then in late 2000, Divaris sold Crossways to an investment partnership affiliated with Schottenstein Management Company. Two vacant boxes in the center, former Best Products and Uptons stores, were remodeled and leased to DSW Shoe Warehouse and Value City Furniture. Given its great location and access, and with improvements to the landscaping and signage, Crossways Shopping Center prospered. The center is now 100 percent leased. With the demise of Montgomery Ward, a further opportunity to revitalize the center presented itself, so Divaris went to work. T.J. Maxx signed a 30,000-square-foot lease at Crossways. T.J. Maxx sells brand name items for the home and designer fashions for the entire family, at up to 60 percent less than department and specialty store prices. Shoppers will never find a “sale” at T.J. Maxx, because of the savings offered throughout the store every day. The company opened its first stores in 1977 in Worcester and Auburn, Massachusetts and now operates 700 stores in 47 states. The addition of Ross Dress for Less completed the big box line up, adding more power to the already successful center. Tired shoppers boost their energy with supplements from The Vitamin Shoppe’s new 3,541-square-foot store in Crossways Shopping Center. Since 1977, The Vitamin Shoppe has been serving the health and nutritional needs of America and offers a complete array of brand and exclusive name vitamins, supplements, herbs, teas, bodybuilding supplements, books, personal care products and more. What started out as one store in New York City has grown into 115 stores in 11 eastern states and Illinois. In addition to its growing number of stores, The Vitamin Shoppe's monthly catalog has significant national distribution, and its Web site serves thousands of visitors daily. If all that shopping makes customers hungry, there is a new Panera Bread Company Store. The specialty bakery/café has leased 4,100 square feet in Crossways Shopping Center. Panera Bread owns and franchises 369 stores in 30 states under the Panera Bread Company and St. Louis Bread Company names. Customers can enjoy quick service in a casual dining atmosphere. The menu offers full lunches with sandwiches made on Panera’s unique bread, as well as a large variety of soups, bagels, croissants, muffins, pastries and specialty coffees. Other tenants
of Crossways Shopping Center include Starbucks Coffees, A&N, Total
Wines, Ruby Tuesday's, Chesapeake Bagel, Dress Barn and Mattress Firm.
