Hecht's is expanding its high-end furniture departments.

 Hecht's Leases 18,865 Square Feet in Richmond

RICHMOND, VA. - Hecht's has signed a lease for 18,865 square feet of warehouse space in Airport Center II, located at 5401 Lewis Rd. in Sandston, Virginia. The company will be using the space for its furniture distribution center.

Hecht's, a local unit of the The May Company, operates 53 stores in 15 markets including: Washington, D.C.; Baltimore, Maryland; and Richmond and Hampton Roads, Virginia. 

The May Company was founded in 1877, and has since become one of the country's leading retailers, operating eight regional department store divisions, using 11 trade names including Lord & Taylor and Strawbridges.

This space will not impact Hecht's distribution operations. Hecht's is expanding its high-end furniture departments within its retail locations.

DRE's Richmond office represented the tenant in the negotiations. In addition, Allison MacMillan of DRE's Richmond office was instrumental in finding a site for a specialized Hecht's Furniture store, next to Regency Mall in Richmond, Virginia. This was a unique situation for Hecht's Furniture Department.
