SEVERNA PARK, MD: Kohl's Department Store has acquired the Caldor lease of 92,225 square feet of retail space at Severna Park Marketplace in Anne Arundel County, Maryland. This transaction was part of a 33-store package that was approved by the New York bankruptcy court in which Kohl's acquired Caldor's store locations in metropolitan New York and at Severna Park, Maryland.

Headquartered in Menomonee Falls, Wisconsin, Kohl's is a family-oriented specialty department store that features quality, moderately-priced apparel, shoes, accessories and soft home products. Kohl's currently operates over 215 stores nationwide.

The Divaris leased and managed Severna Park Marketplace is undergoing extensive renovations and redevelopment. Caldor has been an anchor tenant at the property for several years, but Kohl's, who is constructing a new store, will take its place. Kohl's was welcomed by the shopping centers owner, John Hancock Mutual Life Insurance Company, as a major boost to its redevelopment plans. Negotiations are also underway with several other new tenants to create a major power center at this prime location, situated on the corner of Governor Ritchie Highway and McKinsey Drive in Severna Park.
