RICHMOND,
VIRGINIA -- In one of the largest office deals
in metropolitan Richmond in late 2004, DRE's Brett Womack and Debbie
Wake represented the law firm of
LeClair Ryan in negotiating its new headquarters location in Riverfront
Towers located at 951 East Byrd Street. The law firm will occupy
68,550 square feet on three floors
of the Class A office tower that overlooks the James River in downtown
Richmond. The landlord of
the property is Boston
Properties/Riverfront Towers. Other
tenants in the building include: Hunton & Williams; UBS Financial
Services;
Morgan Keegan; Hazel Thomas; and The Downtown Club.
LeClair Ryan,
is moving its corporate headquarters from the Eighth & Main
Building where
its headquarters have been located since 1993. “We
made an exhaustive review of the real estate market in
Richmond and
found that Riverfront, with its excellent amenities and location,
offered us the
best
choice as the firm grows and moves forward,” said Dennis Ryan, chief
operating
officer of LeClair Ryan.
“We currently
have 81 attorneys and 86 support personnel in the firm’s downtown
Richmond
office. We will have three full
floors
at Riverfront which will be divided among our various legal teams, with
one of
the floors also being our reception and conference center,” adds Ryan. The
fifth largest law firm in Virginia, LeClair Ryan has
been in
business since 1988. It operates offices
in Alexandria, Blacksburg, Charlottesville, Glen Allen, Norfolk,
Roanoke and
Washington, D.C. Gary D. LeClair is
chairman and Ryan is chief operating officer.
The interior
architect for the project is The Planning Partnership, located in
Richmond. The design team has been
collaborating with
LeClair Ryan for several months in order to develop and
create space
that reflects the values and style of the firm. According to The Planning Partnership’s president, Rosemarie Bundy, “LeClair Ryan has chosen a plan which incorporates private offices around the perimeter of the building, with workstations placed within the central interior areas. Some exciting features of their space will include a conference center, a client hospitality area, and an employee lounge. The firm has chosen to implement a sophisticated, transitional style for it’s interior design. Overall the new offices for LeClair Ryan will give their employees and clients a feeling of a comfortable, yet very professional environment in which to do business.” Divaris Real
