Logan’s Roadhouse Comes to Norfolk NORFOLK,
VIRGINIA – What’s old is new again. According to Nation's
Restaurant News, Logan's Roadhouse is one of
the country’s
hottest
restaurant concepts. Designed
to evoke images of the roadhouses that emerged
along world-famous
Route 66 during the 1930s and 40s, Logan’s has captured the public’s
attention.
In June, 2004,
Divaris Real Estate, Inc. announced the signing of a lease with Logan’s
Roadhouse for 1.6 acres of land on Military Highway at JANAF Shopping
Center in
Norfolk. The space was
formerly a Darryl’s restaurant. The
new building measures approximately 8,050 square feet and opened this
spring. Other
tenants in JANAF Shopping Center include: Old
Navy, Marshalls, The Sports Authority, T.J.Maxx, and
Circuit City. Jay Burnell and Levi Thomson
of the Virginia
Beach office of DRE represented the tenant in the negotiations. Burnell, Thomson and Kent Cardwell of DRE’s
Richmond office, are representing Logan’s in its search for
new sites
throughout Virginia.
Logan’s
Roadhouses offer a feast for the eyes and ears as well as the palate. Diners are allowed to watch chefs at the
mesquite grill through several large windows into the kitchen. Patrons can admire the hand-painted murals
and neon signs on the walls while they listen to the vintage jukebox
and nibble
free peanuts from the buckets on each table and toss the peanut shells
onto the
wooden planked floors. Homemade yeast
rolls served near a dual-sided fireplace under mid-century memorabilia
complete
the ambience.
The casual
dining menu includes USDA choice, aged steaks, hand-cut on the
premises;
baby-back ribs; mesquite-grilled chicken; hamburgers; appetizers;
salads and
seafood. The full bar service includes
signature items like the Frozen Roadhouse Teas in Rockin’ Raspberry or
Melon
Madness, frosted mugs or pitchers of beer and specialty margaritas.
Logan’s
Roadhouse is a part of CBL Group, and was founded in 1991 in Nashville,
Tennessee. Logan’s can be found
primarily in the South and Midwest. There
are 114 company-owned Logan’s Roadhouses and 21
franchise
restaurants in 18 states. CBRL Group, Inc. is the holding company for two restaurant concepts. The CBRL name comes from the stock symbol; that symbol came from its original corporation, Cracker Barrel Old Country Store, Inc., which opened its first unit in 1969.
