Hampton’s Buckroe Shopping Center is one of several office and retail properties new to DRE’s Virginia Peninsula leasing portfolio.

Virginia Peninsula Office to Handle Leasing at Several New Properties

NEWPORT NEWS, VIRGINIA –  The Virginia Peninsula office of Divaris Real Estate, Inc. has secured the leasing assignment of several office and retail properties totaling nearly 200,000 square feet of space throughout Virginia’s Peninsula.  DRE’s Tammy Wallman and Teresa Nettles are the listing agents for the properties and say that the leasing requires just clear cut, hard working marketing. 

“We send out dozens of flyers and mailers to other brokers and agents in the area, post signs – whatever it takes,” says Nettles. “The properties are also listed on LoopNet.  With these efforts, we’re trying to attract the right mix of tenants for the right properties.”

Buckroe Shopping Center, located on Pembroke Avenue in Hampton, Virginia, has a gross leasable area of 74,618 square feet, with 28,789 square feet available for lease.  The vacant square footage includes a 17,300-square-foot grocery anchor.  The current tenants within Buckroe Shopping Center include  Payless ShoeSource, Rentway, Family Dollar, Anna's Pizza, Hunan Garden, Beach Hardware and Jackson Hewitt.  DRE’s Wallman represents the landlord, Budlong Enterprises, Inc, in the leasing of this property.

Hilton Shopping Center, located on Warwick Boulevard in Newport News, has a total of 68,315 square feet, with 19,720 square feet available for lease.  The available square footage includes a vacant 18,870-square-foot space with separate pylon signage available to the tenant.  The current tenants include Cozzy's Comedy Club, Ripper's Music, Shawel's TV and Appliance, DC Software and World's Best Comics.  Nettles and Wallman are representing the landlord, Hilton Shopping Center, Inc. 

Another listing acquired by DRE is located at 1304 Todds Lane in Hampton.  This is a 75-acre lot with a 1,600-square-foot existing building.  This property is available on a ground lease.  It is located at the busy intersection of Todd's Lane and Big Bethel Road.  Nettles and Wallman represent the landlord, Infinity Development Inc.

DRE has also been assigned the leasing of Old Point Professional Park, which is owned by Dr. Robert Frank.  The property is made up of several freestanding medical buildings.  Wallman and Nettles represented Frank in the lease of 3,100 square feet of office space to Oyster Point Medical Professionals.  The owner is using the remaining 500 square feet for his own medical practice. 

Cedar One is a new 20,000-square-foot, two-story, Class A building located in the Oyster Point section of Newport News.  Construction was completed in November with 6,717 square feet available for a full-service lease. AH Environmental Consultants, a privately owned consulting engineering firm, occupies the entire top floor, which is approximately 10,000 square feet. DRE’s Nettles is handling the leasing of Cedar One.

Numerous site configurations ranging from 1,403 to 20,000 square feet are available in another Divaris-leased office property located at 3217 North Armistead Avenue in Hampton. The 24,043-square-foot building is situated convenient to Langley Air Force Base.  Nettles is the listing agent for the property, which, due to recent vacancy, has 20,000 square feet available. 

The Warwick Building is a stand-alone office building with convenient parking, located on Warwick Boulevard in Newport News. The building, which has 1,755 square feet of available space, is in close proximity to Historic Hilton Village, a quaint area of Newport News comprised of merchants, homes and offices.  Tenants of The Warwick Building include Achievable Dream, a non-profit organization providing a unique, challenging and disciplined academic environment for children in elementary through high school; and The Warwick Group, a real estate management firm.
