Rockville Office Leases Retail Properties ROCKVILLE,
MARYLAND -- Divaris Real Estate’s Rockville office is responsible for
the leasing and management of
several retail
properties in Maryland and Virginia. A
great deal of activity has taken place at the San Souci Plaza, a
246,788-square-foot shopping center located at the intersection of
Maryland
Route 235 and MacArthur Boulevard in California, Maryland.
Divaris took
on the leasing and management for the center two and a half years ago
and has
since leased 27,000 square feet in the center to tenants such as Hot
Noodle,
Coffee Quarter, JC Spirits & Wine and a new laundromat.
They’ve also
expanded S.M. City Motorsports and Rick Jewelers. In addition, Alan
Luger and
Earl Goodman, principals of the Rockville office, announced the signing
of a
lease with Maximum Health and Fitness for 15,612 square feet. Other
tenants in
the center include Shoppers Food Warehouse, JoAnn Fabrics and Fashion
Bug.
“We were
looking for retailers that were not represented in the area,” says
Susan McGee,
senior retail leasing associate in Divaris’ Rockville office. “The ones
we were
most successful with were the kinds of retailers that were
under-represented in
the market.”
In Hagerstown,
Maryland, Divaris has taken on the leasing and management of two
properties:
North Village Shopping Center and Valley Park Commons. With new tenants
AutoZone, Quizno's Subs and The Abundant Garden, North Village Shopping
Center is
currently 100 percent leased. The new tenants join CVS/pharmacy, Curves
and
Dollar
General.
In Valley Park
Commons, which is currently being
re-developed, Divaris added roughly 86,000 square feet with Hollywood
Video,
Cici’s Pizza, Axiom Staffing and The Dollar Store.
Divaris has
been working with the Layhill Shopping Center in Silver Spring,
Maryland, for
close to five years, and has added tenants such as Ferguson Plumbing,
Flowers
Bakery and Azucar Restaurant. The company also expanded Fitness First
and
re-located the veterinarian’s offices within the center.
“It’s a
changing neighborhood that has become more international,” says McGee,
“so
we’ve addressed the changing needs in the market and found several
international tenants.”
In Rockville,
Maryland, Divaris signed a lease with C&I Cleaners for 1,600 square
feet in
Randolph Hills shopping center. This is the second location for the dry
cleaning company, which joins Katz’s Kosher Supermarket and Amazing
Savings in
Randolph Hills. Also in Rockville, Divaris signed a lease with Notre
Boulangerie
et Patisserie for 1,500 square feet in King Farm Village Center. The
French
bakery joins Safeway, Curves, Fortuna’s Grill, Baja Fresh and Mayorga
Coffee. King Farm Village Center is
exclusively represented by Divaris.
In Temple
Hills, Maryland, Prestigious Creations & Designs signed a lease for
1,300
square feet in the Divaris leased and managed Woodberry Square Shopping
Center.
It joins Family Dollar, Bank of America, Blockbuster, AutoZone and
Radio Shack. And finally, in Alexandria, Virginia, Divaris announced the signing of a lease with The City of Alexandria Public Library for 3,900 square feet of space in the Mt. Vernon Village Center. The library joins My Organic Market, CVS/pharmacy and Nam Viet restaurant in the Divaris-leased center. Divaris Real
