ULTA Means Ultimate Beauty Care

NEWPORT NEWS, VIRGINIA – ULTA was created over ten years ago as the first true one-stop-shop beauty store, in an effort to revolutionize the way women shop for beauty proeducts.  After the excesses of the 1980s, women began simplifying their lives, their wardrobes, hairstyles and makeup. ULTA combined the best of three worlds under one roof: salon, department store and drug store. 

      Whether shopping for everyday lipstick, a gift of luxury perfume or the answer to a skincare question, ULTA has both self-service convenience and experienced advice.  The stores carry salon exclusives as well as prestige, niche and popular brands of cosmetics, fragrances, appliances, accessories, and products for skincare, haircare, bath and body.   Boutique brands carried in ULTA stores include Vincent Longo, Calvin Klein, Elisabeth Arden, Murad and Amazing Cosmetics. 

      ULTA stores are sweeping across the nation with nearly 150 stores in 18 states, including New York, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Maryland, Virginia, North Carolina, Georgia and Florida. 

      In the fall of 2004, Divaris Real Estate, Inc. announced the signing of a lease with ULTA, for 10,200 square feet of retail space in Jefferson Commons at  the intersection of Jefferson Avenue and Bland Boulevard in Newport News, Virginia.  The shopping center is under construction, with other announced tenants to include:  T.J. Maxx, Pier 1 Imports, Kohl’s and Ross Dress for Less. ULTA’s Jefferson Commons location is the first in Hampton Roads and only the fourth in all of Virginia.  Gerald Divaris and Mary McGovern of DRE’s Virginia Beach office represented the tenant in the negotiations.   Divaris and McGovern exclusively represent ULTA in its search for additional 10,000-square-foot stores throughout Virginia.

      Hair and spa treatments available at ULTA include cut and style, permanent waves and color treatments, clarifying and protein reconstructive hair treatments, antioxidant facials, paraffin manicures, stress-reducing pedicures and wax hair removal.

      On the web, ULTA.com has created a virtual salon, complete with one-on-one consultations, Style Solutions, an instant answer to haircare and styling problems; and a special Style File loaded with interactive hair features.   Additionally, any of the 12,000 essential and luxury products in over 400 brands can be purchased via the Internet at anytime.  Live customer service puts experts at the customer’s fingertips to solve immediately every beauty dilemma.
