Strayer University Opens Campus in The Town Center of Virginia Beach

Virginia Beach, Virginia:  Michael B. Divaris, president of Divaris Real Estate Inc. (DRE), announced the signing of a lease with Strayer University for 10,000 square feet of office space in the highly successful Town Center of Virginia Beach.  Located at the core of the City’s Central Business District, the new Virginia Beach campus is the University’s third location in Hampton Roads.

For over 110 years, Strayer University has been dedicated to providing quality higher learning programs for working adults, focusing on education to advance their careers.  Strayer University offers opportunities to complete a degree or quickly gain marketable skills and specialized knowledge through a six- to 12-course certificate or diploma.  Undergraduate and graduate programs are available at 41 campuses in Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Maryland, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia and Washington D.C., as well as online.

Strayer University is the latest tenant to lease space at 249 Central Park Avenue in The Town Center.  Comprised of 94,730 square feet, Block 3 is a three-story, mixed-use building, which includes first-floor retail and second- and third-floor office space.  Current tenants are The Cheesecake Factory, Keagan’s Irish Pub, Brooks Brothers, Gordon Biersch Brewery Restaurant, Rack & Rack Law Firm and Global Support Software.

Michael Divaris, of DRE’s Virginia Beach office, represented the landlord in the lease negotiations.  The Town Center of Virginia Beach is leased by Divaris Real Estate Inc. and is managed by Divaris Property Management Corp.  The project is being developed by Armada Hoffler Development Company.

Once complete, The Town Center will span over 17 city blocks and provide a mix of Class A office, multilevel upscale retail, deluxe residential, The Sandler Center for the Performing Arts and an array of cafes, restaurants and deluxe business hotels.  Other office tenants in The Town Center include:  Armada/Hoffler; Bank of America; City of Virginia Beach’s Economic Development Authority; Divaris Real Estate Inc.; Fidelity National Insurance; Health Net; Legg Mason; Mass Mutual; Morgan Stanley; Thomas Rutherfoord Inc.; Troutman Sanders LLP; UBS Financial Services; Wilcox & Savage; the local CBS affiliate; and U.S. Senator George Allen.
