Two Divaris Employees Named 2014 Top Forty Under 40 by Inside Business

VIRGINIA BEACH, VIRGINIA: Gerald S. Divaris, chairman and CEO of Divaris Real Estate, Inc. (DRE), is pleased to announce that Krista J. Costa and Alexander P. Divaris have been selected as Inside Business 2014 Top Forty Under 40 honorees.

The Hampton Roads Business Journal, Inside Business, recognized 40 young professionals at a dinner at the Norfolk Waterside Marriott on Tuesday, where about 350 people attended. Nominations were requested from the public, and a panel of judges scored each nomination based on a number of qualifications, but mainly through achievement in each candidate’s professional life and their involvement in bettering the community. This was the 16th time the awards were presented, totaling 640 people the event has recognized over the years.

Krista J. Costa is Vice President of Corporate Services and Office Leasing, assisting landlords in leasing their office space and tenants in locating office space or renewing leases. As a part of the Town Center of Virginia Beach office leasing team, she has helped to lease more than 900,000 square feet of office leases. Krista holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Old Dominion University, where she double-majored in Finance and International Business, and holds her Master in Commercial Property (MICP) from The Lipsey School of Real Estate. Krista participates with CREW Hampton Roads and HRACRE, both real estate professional groups. Annually, she coordinates a school supply drive for the UP Center’s Team Up Mentoring Program. She participates in the Virginia Aquarium’s Access Aquarium Fund Ladies Golf Tournament committee, PTA Fundraising co-chair, and Girls on the Run race day volunteer. See Krista’s full write-up here.

Alexander P. Divaris is Vice President of Investment Sales, assisting local, regional and national investors, users and sellers in the acquisition and disposition of retail, office and industrial properties. Over his career, Alex has participated in the sales of more than four million square feet in excess of $300 million. He also manages DRE’s Marketing and IT Departments. Alex holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Finance from The College of William and Mary and is a Certified Commercial Investment Member (CCIM). He is a co-founder and first director of Generation MOCA, the associate board for the Virginia Museum of Contemporary Art; as well as a co-founder, board member and former president of the CBDX, which has raised $130,000 in five years for local charities. Alex also holds board positions with the Central Business District Association (CBDA) and Light Rail Now, as well as involvement with Samarian House’s 100 Men Next Generation Campaign, the National Education Association’s Read Across America Day and Friends of Neptune. View Alex’s full write-up here.
