Virginia Beach, Va. (September 14, 2023) – Warriors Heart, a veteran-owned rehabilitation center, celebrated the opening of a new location in Virginia. The 60-bed facility is located on a 520-acre ranch in Milford and offers a full continuum of care for veterans, active-duty military personnel, and first responders struggling with addiction, PTSD, and other mental health challenges.

The Virginia campus offers a variety of holistic therapies, such as yoga, meditation, and metal shop and features a variety of amenities, including:

  • Secured environment
  • Detox
  • Residential treatment
  • Aftercare

In the future the center plans to extend their services to offer day treatment, outpatient treatment, brain treatment, and sober living.

The organization was contacted by Gov. Glenn Youngkin’s office to gauge its interest in opening a facility in the state.

“We had an idea of what type of space we needed to open a new facility, we just needed to find the right location,” said Lisa Lannon, co-founder of Warriors Heart. Nicole Campbell, assistant vice president at Divaris Real Estate represented Warriors Heart in the search of property in Virginia. “The property wasn’t even for sale, and Nicole helped us find it and guided us through negotiations to purchase the off-market property.” Warriors Heart is the first privately funded treatment center in Virginia that is exclusively for active-duty military, veterans, and first responders.

“Miracle after miracle kept happening to get us here today,” added Josh Lannon, Warrior’s Heart CEO and co-founder. “This location was designed to feel like the opposite of a hospital,” he added. The center will be the first Warriors Heart location on the East Coast, and Lannon anticipates that it will be one of the largest private employers in the county. The center’s proximity to Northern Virginia provides the opportunity for those struggling a place close to home to seek expert help, with transportation available to pick up those who require assistance.

“Our service isn’t just here on the facility, our service is in the community. We want to integrate in the community; we want to know the community,” said Mike Marotta, executive director of Warriors Heart and an Air Force veteran.

Marotta will move from San Antonio to Bowling Green to help run the new facility and connect with the community. He said the organization intends to work with nonprofits to cover expenses for those who may not be able to afford the services.

Warriors Heart is located at 20500 Devasya Lane in Milford, Virginia. For more information, please visit or call (844) 448-2567.
