Dave Redmond is Vice President and Associate Broker of commercial sales and leasing in DRE’s Virginia Beach, Virginia headquarters. A licensed real estate broker in Virginia and North Carolina, his responsibilities include land sales, general brokerage, the leasing of retail space, and tenant representation. Redmond is also in his fourth term representing the Bayside District on Virginia Beach’s Planning Commission, reviewing land use and zoning matters and setting development policy in Virginia’s largest city.

Redmond has represented a diverse group of large clients, including Landlords and property owners such as Schottenstein Property Group, Armada Hoffler, Landonomics Group, Conlon and Co., Thompson Thrift Development, and Harbourview Partners, and Tenants such as LA Fitness, Firehouse Subs, FedEx Office, UFC Gym, Simply Fashion Stores, Panchero’s Mexican Grill, Dunkin’ Donuts, Verizon Wireless, and Ntelos. He is a member of the International Council of Shopping Centers and regularly attends ICSC’s annual RECON convention in Las Vegas, and the regional Dealmaking conventions in Charlotte, NC, Washington, DC., and Atlanta, GA.

Within the last year, Redmond has sold approximately $11 million in commercial real estate, including major land holdings in Elizabeth City, NC, Virginia Beach, VA; and Suffolk, VA’s Harbour View submarket.

Prior to joining Divaris Real Estate, Redmond was Director of Government and Community Relations for Tidewater Community College. His other prior experience includes serving as executive director of Smart Region Hampton Roads, a non-profit community development project of the Hampton Roads Partnership, a regional public policy group, where he served on the Governor’s Commission on Information Technology’s Task Force on E-Communities. Redmond also has 14 years of experience on Capitol Hill in senior positions for five Members of Congress and one House of Representatives committee.

A Virginia Beach native, Redmond received a Bachelor of Arts degree from the College of William and Mary with concentrations in English and Philosophy. Redmond is a 2001 graduate of Leadership Hampton Roads, and in 2003 was the SunTrust Foundation Fellow in the Thomas C. Sorensen Institute for Political Leadership at the University of Virginia.

Redmond lives in Virginia Beach with his wife, Kathleen, and daughter, Jill, and counts the beach, gardening, sports, and politics as hobbies.
