Fred Karp holds the position of Executive Vice President for Divaris Real Estate’s Richmond Office, specializing in providing transaction advisory services to the Commonwealth of Virginia’s Department of General Services (DGS) and its Division of Real Estate Services (DRES). His services encompass transaction management, project management, brokerage, leasing, strategic planning, and portfolio consulting, covering Virginia’s extensive portfolio of leased and owned real property.

Bringing over 40 years of experience in corporate real estate development and finance, Fred has played pivotal roles with three Fortune 500 companies. His impressive track record includes completing more than 1,800 real estate transactions nationwide. Notably, Fred led the store development expansion of Best Buy Mobile and developed Best Buy big box stores in over 20 markets in the United States and Puerto Rico. Prior to this, he held senior real estate and finance positions at The Musicland Group (Sam Goody) and finance positions at General Mills, Inc.

Fred holds a Master’s Degree in Business Administration (MBA) from the University of St. Thomas, St. Paul, Minnesota, and a Bachelor of Science Degree in Economics from Hamline University, St. Paul, Minnesota. Fred is also an active member of the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC).

Beyond his professional endeavors, Fred contributes to Virginia-based non-profit organizations by providing pro-bono advisory services to their CEOs and Executive Directors, showcasing his commitment to community involvement and support.
