Heather Gavin serves as Vice President of Sales and Leasing at Divaris Real Estate’s Washington D.C. office. A seasoned professional with more than 17 years of experience in shopping center leasing and merchandising, Heather has represented some of the largest REITs in the U.S., including Taubman, Starwood Retail Partners, JLL, Simon Property Group, Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield (URW) and Brookfield Properties Retail.
Heather began her career in Richmond, Virginia with The Taubman Company, where she expanded the specialty and temporary leasing program across department store–anchored malls. She went on to replicate those achievements in the South Carolina and Florida markets with leading national landlords before transitioning into permanent leasing with URW in 2018.
Her portfolio has included both outdoor lifestyle malls as well as enclosed malls up to 1.6 million square feet, with responsibility for national and regional leasing across landmark centers across Tampa, Los Angeles, Dallas and other major markets. She has driven merchandising strategies that brought niche food brands, luxury accessories, entertainment concepts, mini-anchors, and digitally native brands into high-profile shopping environments.
A native of Virginia, Heather graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science degree from Old Dominion University in Norfolk after beginning her studies at University of Miami.
