Representing a Flagship Building in One of Virginia’s Major Markets, Downtown Norfolk

Norfolk, VA (November 12, 2021) – On Tuesday Harbor Group International announced the sale of the iconic World Trade Center building, positioned on Norfolk, Virginia’s downtown waterfront. The building’s new ownership named Divaris Real Estate, Inc. (DRE), the exclusive management and leasing agent. DRE is an international brokerage firm headquartered in Virginia Beach with a portfolio of approximately 31.5 million square feet in management and leasing assignments.

“We are both delighted and honored to have been appointed to handle the management and leasing of the World Trade Center building on behalf of the new ownership,” stated Michael Divaris, DRE’s President and COO, “and we are looking forward to keeping this iconic building as a flagship in the City of Norfolk,” he added.

Divaris Real Estate assembled a world-class team to serve as the project’s exclusive leasing and management agents. Executive Vice President Krista Costa, a Hampton Roads native, leads with more than 20 years of market expertise in office leasing and corporate services. Marci Phillips, Senior Vice President lends her decades of experience in landlord representation. New DRE Associate Rachel Salasky, rounds out the trio with a fresh perspective on the emerging trends of today’s businesses.

For continuity and a seamless transition of the management of Word Trade Center, Divaris Real Estate retained the building’s current on-site team, including General Manager Krista Marshall, who oversees day-to-day operations alongside Assistant Property Manager Karin Kish; and Jeff Ratajczak, who was made Chief Engineer of the World Trade Center in 2018. DRE Founders Michael and Gerald Divaris’ are dedicated to understanding the needs of the business community and its people. Their commitment to preserving and enhancing the value and functionality of a space, led them to develop a revitalization program for this iconic building, designed by renowned architect Skidmore Owings & Merrill. This new program will renovate the lobby and certain suites to modernize the space and attract new tenants.

Divaris Real Estate continues to expand its footprint in Downtown Norfolk and across the Mid-Atlantic region, showcasing its dynamic team’s many areas of expertise. Last year DRE represented the buyers in a joint-venture partnership as TowneBank and CHKD purchased the former Norfolk Southern Building; and in 2017 CIG Town Point Center appointed DRE to manage their prominent 12-story-131,259-square-foot downtown building featuring Norfolk’s only commercial penthouse conference center and lounge.
