Chris Taylor joined the Divaris team in 2000 and has over 35 years experience in Real Estate Accounting. As Director of Accounting for Divaris Real Estate, Inc., she oversees both property management and corporate accounting. Chris is responsible for the over-site of all corporate and property accounting including preparation of operating budgets, financial statements, cash flows, projections, payroll, account reconciliations, monthly reporting and general account services for the corporation and its clients.

Prior to joining Divaris, Chris was controller of development and property management accounting for the National Housing Corporation/Housing Management Services, Inc. In this position, she organized and streamlined reporting and accounting for both departments, instituted accounting teams to promote a cooperative environment, instituted regular monthly meetings to foster an atmosphere of interdepartmental cooperation, worked closely with MIS department to automate the computer processes, and analyzed problems with the timing of annual audit procedures.

Chris is also a former assistant controller for Goodman Segar Hogan & Hoffler where she handled accounting for the newly acquired real estate brokerage firm, coordinated monthly general ledger reconciliation processes, and developed division-by-division analysis for monthly corporate reporting.

Other prior experience includes controller for J. Webb Incorporated in Northern Virginia where she oversaw accounting for their corporate and investment partnerships in addition to supervising the property management accounting department. In this position, Chris revised year-end corporate financial statements to include equity and market evaluation reports, brought the preparation of year-end partnership tax and financial statements in-house, streamlined accounting department procedures, reduced personnel costs by 25 percent and implemented a network system and new accounting software package for the property management department.

Prior to working with J. Webb Inc., Chris worked with two other prominent real estate firms in the Metropolitan Washington D.C. area, Carl Freeman Associates and The Henry A. Long Company, where she worked as an assistant controller and a property accountant.

Chris holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration, with a concentration in Finance and Accounting from the University of Virginia in Charlottesville, Virginia. She is a licensed Certified Public Accountant.
